Downloading an application to my Android telephone

An application (app) is a software
There are free applications and some that you have to pay for

There are apps for many things
For example, for :

• Moving around
• Chatting
• Sending emails
• Making an appointment with a doctor
• Translating text
• Keeping informed
• Organising paperwork

There are already apps on my telephone
On the screen of my telephone I can see the app Play Store

I can use the app Play Store
to download new apps

To download an app with Play Store

I need to create a Gmail account
This is Google’s messaging service

To set up a Gmail account
I click on Google; the internet page opens
I write ‘set up a google account’ in the search bar

A new webpage opens up
I write :

• my first name and surname
• my username: this is my email address
• my password

When my Gmail account has been set up
On my telephone’s home screen

I click on Play Store

I connect with my Google account
I can now download apps

In the search bar

I write the name of the app that I want
I click on it

Then I click on Install.
The app downloads

When the download is complete
I click on Open
The app opens

Downloading an app to my Apple iOS telephone

There are already some apps on my telephone
On my telephone’s screen I can see the App Store

I can use the app App Store to download new apps
I need to create an Apple ID in order to use App store

To set up an Apple ID :
I open the app App Store and click on

I click on Créer un identifiant Apple
I write my email address and my password
I click on Créer un identifiant Apple

I will have to answer several questions :

• Accepting the general conditions
•  Adding my date of birth
• Confirming my telephone number
• Adding my bank card number
  If I do not want to add my bank card number, I click on Aucun

When I have answered all the questions
I receive an email message
I have to open the message and confirm my email address

I can now open the app App Store
I can download apps

In the search bar
I write the name of the app that I want
Then I click on Obtenir

The app downloads

I click on Ouvrir
The app opens
